Gallagher`s River City Grill in Sterling

We went there for lunch. The Grill is a nice looking restaurant, clean. I got the chicken fried steak. It was from a box. Dishearting, but it was good. My husband got the Nachos, he was unimpressed they were dry, not any taste very plain. The Grill might be better at supper time. That was our experience.

Great service, good prices, table rite away

Food was good, salad was fresh, servings were generous. Waitstaff all very friendly and professional. Signs stated masks required inside (during pandemic) but definitely not enforced. Of a full dining room, we were one of 2 tables (out of 15 groups) that even had masks. Pretty scary, especially since it was almost 100°F out and no shade at outside dining.

The filet was wonderful! I visit every time I'm in the area!

A person went to this place and got a bunch of slop! Do not recommend this place at all! Trying to get take out to help out small businesses and nothing but rude. People and SLOP for food! If I could give this place a ZERO I would!

My spinach salad with grilled chicken was good. My husband ordered the steak sandwich, rare, the steak was well done, dry and felt like paste.

Good food, good service, they failed to tell us they automatically add 20 percent to the check for split checks for more than 7 people. We would have sat at different tables had known.

First time there tonight. Came from Brush in search for a good steak for an early anniversary celebration. The special was prime rib which we both ended up having. It was cooked to perfection to both of our liking. James B. picked out the perfect wine after hearing my tastes in wines. Couldn't have asked for a better waiter. Food was A+ and Service was A+. Will definitely be back!

I ordered the steak sandwich(medium rare and it came medium well)and it was full of veins and fat, it took a lot of chewing. Mom got the shrimp the jumbo shrimp breaded tempura style they were delicious. However the prices at River City grill are way too high for the quality of food. They had a musician in there playing acoustic guitar and singing which was enjoyable he wasn't too loud he wasn't too quiet and he's singing a wide variety of songs that everybody would enjoy at least one of them. so to wrap it up basically the food is okay the ambience is nice and the prices are way too high. we go out to eat two or three times a year and we thought dairy Queen or village inn would have been a better place to go for food. We won't ever go back to River City grill. We will go to J& L or Village Inn or even Dairy Queen before we go back to River City grill. It wasn't awful however for the money you should expect more.

Generic Sysco type food. 5 star prices and if your steak is overcooked and you’d rather not waste food by having them replace it they will NOT discount a $30 ribeye that your 3 year old could accidentally make. Great friendly staff. Incompetent management.

The food was excellent! The shrimp I had, the pieces were huge! I would definitely go back. My friends burger was huge and delicious. The Cajun fries were delicious! Good sized food portions for the price!

Great food and the customer service was amazing! The website only shows take out but they were open for dining in.

very pricey subpar food. i ordered penned with alfredo and chicken. got some weird, runny red sauce. the pizza bites are just tomato paste and cheese...no taste. the service was good, the young lady who waited on us was very pleasant. overall unhappy with our visit there, probably won't come back.

My chicken fried steak was delicious, but my wife ordered the fillet medium came out well done and burnt waitress was a sweetheart friendly kitchen was slow

It was a stop on our cross country roadtrip that was recommended to us as we were craving steak. My hubby and I were pleasantly surprised! He had the spicy ribs and I had the top sirloin. Both were delicious and reasonably priced! It has a high end sports bar feel without the exagerated prices. Service was awesome. I would recommend to travelers who need to unwind after a long day of driving.

The Grill at River City is an absolutely amazing place! The owners and staff go above and beyond to make sure their customers are satisfied and happy. We are fortunate to have this restaurant for meals, drinks, catering and events. Thank you to The Grill for caring about our community and going above and beyond!

The food (and beer) was great, with a lot of choices. From appetizers & sandwiches to full salads & entrees. Nice atmosphere, and pleasant staff. They weren't prepared for how busy they got when we dropped in on Memorial Day, so service was slow. But overall, we were very happy with the choice to dine here. Great to find such a nice spot in Sterling, CO. We weren't expecting it!

The grill at river city is one of, if not the best places to eat in sterling Colorado. While it is on the higher end of your budget, the food is well worth it. The staff are courteous and kind, and the food came within half an hour. Great burgers. Great place for a celebration!

Ordered the top sirloin steak meal, came with a good salad, it had some spring mix as well as iceberg, wasn't bad. Had a loaded baked potato, was wrapped in aluminum foil, cut and properly prepped. As for the Steak, I asked for med rare, was done almost right. The service I recieved was also good. For the location of was not bad. I have had worse, but it could've been better. For the price, I guess a 4 would almost be right, but the quality, should've been better, more spring mix, place the butter and cheese on the side with to go orders, the bread that came with the meal was basically a half of slice of artisan bread, lightly toasted, but they could've done something special to add flavor. But again, for this location... it's not bad. Will I go back? Possibly, when I need a steak. But otherwise, probably not. I'll just go to village inn, where I can get the same quality for a lesser price. But village inn doesn't serve steak... so....

The food was delicious! I ordered the spicy grill burger and fries. The burger was absolutely perfect. The fries tasted a little like they were fried in the same oil as something cinnamony which was kinda gross.

The Grill is very inconsistent. Sometimes it is great, but sometimes it is terrible. We recently had a reservation for a party of 8. After sitting at the table for almost 25 minutes I went and asked the hostesses (two were just standing there, but had not offered to get us water or find our waitress). One said yes, we had a waitress and would find her. They were not apologetic at all. It ended up the manager who came and got our drinks and then waited on us. Food was mediocre, some good, some not so good. Then we got the bill with the credit card slip on top with a spot for the tip, and suggestions for the tip based on %. The bill seemed a little high, so I got out the itemized receipt, added it all up and then noticed a "service charge". It did not say a percent, but I calculated it to be 20%. I understand some places add a tip to large parties, but this should have be brought to my attention when I was given the bill. Not cool.

Wanted a good steak, ordered the ribeye grill, I requested it medium well. Ribeye came really well done, edges burnt to a crisp. I should have sent it back, but after waiting for a while for our order I decided just to keep it. Not worth the $36.00 Won't be going back.

We were greeted at the door by the hostess. When we were seated, a wait staff was right there to take our drink orders. She was not our waitress but jumped in to help out. Our waitress was taking an order at another table. Great teamwork. Our waitress did a very nice job. Drinks were kept full, table was prebussed, salad and meals were delivered in a timely manner. Dinning room was getting a little cool and about to complain, the waitress came by and said it should be more comfortable in just a couple minutes. The food was good. The steak was cooked to perfection, the fish was hot and crispy and not oily. The ribs were very good.the only knock was you could not pull the ribs apart. You had use a knife. They were very good and would most certainly order them again.

The food was not good. My steak was completely bland and the mashed potatoes were horrible. My fiance ordered a beef burrito and they gave him a chicken burrito. Our server was really rude and the prices are ridiculous for the kind of food we got.

Best restaurant in Sterling. Realy nice people there. Tuna Melt is pretty good; I hope that they bring the baked beans back. My main ask would be to get a newer and brighter TV in the bar area if they haven't already.

I visit here for meals during business travel. Staff is always friendly and informative. The food is good, drinks are tasty & refreshing. Try the blueberry chicken salad or the trout. It's delicious!

We decided to give this place one more shot, since it use to be delicious. We ordered the spicy grill burger with Cole slaw and pub chips, and a steak smothered burrito. The burger was very messy with a strange cheese sauce on top that all fell apart when I first picked it up. The burger was okay. The Cole slaw came in a tiny bowl for sauces, and was bland like it was straight out of a bag. The burrito was beyond disappointing. Stuffed with bland refried beans with a few pieces of steak inside. They did end up bringing a bigger bowl of the sad Cole slaw to us. Worst part is the environment is very nice, and appears like they would have very tasty food when they really don't. Worst part is they changed their menu and raised their prices. I do not recommend this place until the kitchen figures out how to cook food with flavor.

We were hoping for steaks, but that wasn't an option at 2pm on a Saturday? So we had to get bland overpriced fish and chips that tasted like they had been frozen. Huge disappointment from what is considered one if the best restaurants in town.

The atmosphere is nice. Live music on friday nights. You must try the pork chops! They are phenomenal!!!
